Teaching Methods 

Based on my observations, my cooperating teacher applies Teacher Based Learning (TBL). But this learning still prioritizes students participation in class. Teacher uses presentation methods, Q&A (Questions and Answer), assignments, and discussions in groups. In the learning process, teacher will initially recall the previous material, then explain the teaching material in power point presentation.

Teacher also give some examples and show how to solve the problem. After that, teacher will provide exercise and each group must do it. One volunteer from each group will explain the answer in front of the class. At the end of the lesson, teacher will give homework as an additional exercise.

Learning Materials and Innovation 

My cooperating teacher uses teaching materials in the form of power point presentations to display material, uses board to write down important points in learning and answers questions about the examples and exercise. In addition, the teacher also provides games and motivation that can help students to understand the topic presented. In the learning process each student also uses textbooks.

When working the exercise on group, the teacher instructs students to work on group using extra boards, then stick the extra board to the board. In my opinion this is one of the good innovations because students can directly discuss with their group friends and immediately write their answers and display it in front of the class. Of course, this can make more time efficient when teaching.

Sources of Learning and Technology

My cooperating teacher uses the textbook TOÁN 8 TẬP MỘT SONG NGU VIET (Mathematics 8, Volume 1) by Phan Đức Chính, et al. This book is published by Vietnam Education Publishing House. In addition, teachers also use some other literature sourced from the internet. Teachers also usually use power point presentations to display material.

The technology in the classroom, there are projector, LCD TV, and loudspeakers can be used by the teacher to deliver the materials.

Authentic Assessment 

In the learning process the teacher always gives an assessment. Students are assessed based on group assessments, individual assessments, and assessments each semester. Group assessments are based on points earned by students while doing exercises and quizzes together in groups. For individual assessments, teachers give points to students who are active in the learning process. In addition, teachers always give homework to students as part of individual assessments. In the semester assessment, the students will have a test.

All scores obtained will be recorded and calculated at the end of the semester. Assessment each semester is given to evaluate what they have learned during one semester. Therefore, teachers are expected to know and measure the ability of students and can improve things that need to be improved.
